The Story of Fortyone Automotive Limited, New Zealand
Why You Should Choose Us
Fortyone Automotive is a proud New Zealand owned and operated company which started in June of 2004 and whose owners have a history with performance cars dating back to the early 1990's. Our aim is to bring top quality performance car parts to you in an official capacity and at the best price possible. We can't guarantee that the importing process for your parts will be flawless all of the time but what we can guarantee is that we will be up front and honest about the process, that we'll always be here for your questions, that every part is authentic without exception, that we will always deliver on your order and that we'll stand behind the brands we represent. We believe these things matter the most.
Below is some of our stock shipments. We really are in the game!
Why Should You Use Fortyone Automotive?
Being New Zealand owned and operated is important to us. When you spend money overseas, the Kiwi economy never sees it again and Kiwi companies never benefit from your business. When you buy with us you form a new relationship which can grow in many directions and result in new brand lines, cheaper prices, quicker service, better options and so on. Also, when buying from overseas you miss out on warranties and guarantees and there's no way to really know that the items you want will be correct or will ever be delivered. We believe our prices are the best out and if they aren't we don't believe you should face such high risks when self-importing for a very small saving.
Therefore, we believe that the warranties and guarantees that we offer, coupled with the fail-safe that New Zealand based companies provide via the Consumer Guarantees Act, plus our direct links with the brands to remove speculation and misinformation for little or no price difference is a compelling reason to shop with us. We are only where we are today because of the support of our customers, which is testimony to our prior success. We didn't buy our way to the top, and we certainly didn't get here with low quality parts and poor service!
What Do We Do?
Despite popular belief, it is very hard to work with overseas companies when you factor in language and cultural differences (the Japanese consumer will wait as long as it takes for parts and the brands are happy with this, where as New Zealander's want everything yesterday!), holidays, time delays, bank delays, events, weekends and so on. We know there is considerable risk when importing parts - it's not nice to receive the wrong $4000 Turbo kit (having paid $700 in shipping, Customs and GST) only to have to pay out of your own pocket to send it back and pay Customs again to clear the correct Turbo Kit when it arrives! And that's only if the retailer will accept the return!
We also know it's a shock when you self-import only to receive a clearance letter and invoice from Customs New Zealand to clear your items making the parts more expensive than local prices. We also know it's annoying when you get the wrong color, the wrong shape, the wrong application or the wrong brand of part when you order from overseas with no chance of recourse.
As a representative of the brands overseas, we accept all this risk and provide reassurance that if something has been ordered or sent incorrectly, that we will fix it. We also provide the assurance that there is a remedial path to pursue if something goes wrong with the part. You do not get this when buying from overseas. There are also no hidden costs in our prices. Everything is delivered to your door. Overseas companies do not tell you about local Custom fees and duties, which adds hundreds to the cost of importing parts at the very least.
Kaizen at Fortyone Automotive
Kaizen is a work ethic principle that represents a continual cycle of forward progression within a business. It was a philosophy employed after World War II by the Japanese people which resulted in Japan emerging from a war ravaged nation to the forefront of the world economy in 40 short years. It represents business pride and the desire to continue to do better. It is a perpetual cycle where each aspect of a company is broken down into its components and improved upon. Complaints and recommendations are taken onboard and acted upon. Services are in continual development to find better ways to form stronger relationships with our customers. Plans are put in place to anticipate future needs for both the company and our customers. We employ this philosophy here at Fortyone Automotive - we respect that we are not perfect and therefore we must be on our toes to look for and implement improvements each time we work with you.
